Who we are

LotQuote ("we", "us") is provided by the business that operates LotQuote. We make lead capture, measuring and quoting software for Australian trade businesses and set it up for them. Our team works remotely from Pakistan.

This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Whose information we hold

We hold personal information about four groups of people:

  • Businesses that use LotQuote and their staff: names, email addresses, phone numbers, business details such as an ABN and logo, and their rates and settings.
  • Their customers: names, phone numbers, email addresses, property addresses, measurements, photos, quotes and messages that a business enters or that arrive through its website estimate form. We hold these on the business's behalf, and the business decides how they are used.
  • People who ask us for a walkthrough: name, business name and business email, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, trade and state, plus the page you sent the request from.
  • Visitors to our website: technical details such as IP address, browser and pages viewed, from our hosting logs and page analytics.

How we use it

To provide and support the service: storing quotes and records, showing property boundaries, producing quote pages and PDFs, and sending the messages a business asks us to send.

To reply to walkthrough requests and arrange calls.

To keep the service secure and working, for example rate limits and error reports with personal details removed.

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Disclosure overseas

Our team works from Pakistan and can access account and customer information to set up and support the service. We also use service providers that store or process information outside Australia:

  • Supabase: database and sign-in, hosted in Singapore.
  • Vercel: website hosting and page analytics (United States and other regions).
  • Google Maps Platform: maps, satellite imagery and address search (United States).
  • Resend: email sending, once set up for a business (United States).
  • Twilio: SMS sending, once set up for a business (United States).
  • Sentry: error reports with personal details removed, when switched on (United States).
  • Stripe: card payments, if a business takes payments online (United States and other regions).
  • Australian state and territory government services: property boundary lookups (Australia).

Each provider gets only what it needs

Address search sends the address being searched; boundary lookups send a map location; email and SMS providers receive the message and the recipient's details. We choose providers with published security and privacy commitments.

Quote links

When a business shares a quote, anyone with that link can view the quote details it chose to send, including the property map. Share links with the same care you would a paper quote.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep you signed in. Our page analytics count visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Keeping it safe

Information travels over encrypted connections. Each business can only reach its own records, and our team's access is limited to setup and support.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. Businesses can export their quotes and customer records at any time, and deleting an account removes its quotes, customers and measurements.

If you are a customer of a business that uses LotQuote, please contact that business first; we will help it respond.

Questions and complaints

Contact us through the walkthrough form or the contact details on our website. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
